Torchwood Children of the Earth 5 day TV event
For those that missed the start of the excellent Torchwood – Children of the Earth TV event that aired on BBC America last night (July 20th). Here’s your chance to watch the rather spectacular opening to the show.
BBC America has provided the first few minutes of the Apocalyptic TV event for your viewing pleasure (see below.) But if you want more don’t fret you can see it in its entirety again tonight at 8pm right before the second show (day 2) begins.

For those unfamiliar with Torchwood it’s a Doctor Who spin off that has become hugely popular in the UK and worldwide amongst sci-fi fans. The show has now gained a huge following in its own right and is beginning to rival the show it was originally derived from.
Summary
One morning an extraordinary event sweeps throughout the planet; at exactly 8.45 AM every child around the world suddenly stops and begins chanting the words “we are coming” over and over. The Torchwood team still dealing with the deaths of two of their own have to shake off their grief to investigate the event. And what they uncover is a menacing alien threat that will put the future of the entire human race in danger.
Having watched this when it was originally aired in the UK I can tell you it’s a spectacular TV experience, I was actually surprised not just at how good the show was but also by how confidently it dealt with issues that are not often shown in the realm of Sci-fi, so it gets a big thumbs up from me.
