‘The Thing’ Prequel Update – Filming Begins in March
Thanks to: Production Weekly via Dread Central
You may have read our report just a few weeks ago about the lack of news regarding the making of the prequel to the 1980s movie The Thing. Well just as I was about to give up hope I read some exciting news this morning that filming will begin in March. The movie will be filmed in Toronto and is expected to run through till June.
The movie will follow the events that occurred just before the American research facility was terrorized by the shape-shifting alien in the 1982 film. This time the story centres on the Norwegian research station, you may remember them chasing after the dog at the beginning of the movie.
Bloggers are already venting their disappointment at the fact that relative new comer Matthjis Van Heijningen will be directing the movie. However as he’s currently working on the two movies in development that I’m most looking forward to, The Thing and Army of the Dead he’s already made an early fan out of me.
We’ll keep you updated as more news becomes available.
