The first images of Eli Roth’s ‘Aftershock’ appear online
Eli Roth the creative mind behind the cult horror movies Cabin Fever and Hostel is currently filming his latest project Aftershock, which marks the writer’s first venture into full scale disaster territory.
Roth has not only scripted the movie he will also star in the film, which will see him and five friends struggle to survive in the aftermath of a huge earthquake which devastates the city around them. To make matters worse an asylum for the criminally insane is damaged leading to the release of a number of inmates, bringing the story closer to Roth’s horror roots.
In a recent interview Roth had this to say about the project,
“We are making a smart elevated disaster genre movie with superb production value, something really big. The film’s going to be very scary, very intense, and very real,”
One things for sure it’s an exciting concept; I like the idea of marrying the two genres, disaster and horror which could make for an extremely intense and thrilling movie.
