Wow, that thing has surprising shelf life! There are some extremely cheesy effects and logical oddities in the story, but the mood and characters are so well developed. I'm actually looking forward to the prequel, even if it's just more of the same. The Alien sequel ended up becoming a tangent of a movie called Prometheus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446714/), which I can't wait for, even though it's not strictly PA in nature. I would totally watch a Cloverfield and I Am Legend sequel. Just rewatched The Thing again. Wow, that thing has surprising shelf life!
