Well it seems after our early excitement over the potential new NBC series Day One, it’s been one bad news story after another. First we had the news that the show had been reduced to a 4 hour miniseries and now today I can report that this has been reduced even further. The show will now be a two hour movie that has also been touted as a “backdoor pilot.” So viewing figures will decide whether it becomes a fully fledged series or not. Very disappointing news indeed, I had high hopes for this series; you can read my earlier article which includes a trailer and summary for Day One here Sources: Zap2it via Scificool

The mystery surrounding NBC’s upcoming post-apocalyptic show has finally been revealed. The extended trailer also gives an insight in to the plot which has been said to be a cross between War of the Worlds and Lost. Well judging by the trailer (below) it looks like all the hoopla surrounding the initial announcement of NBC’s upcoming “TV Event” is founded. It certainly isn’t anything like I’d expected and I must say that after watching the trailer my excitement over the show has increased ten fold. In my opinion (and I know it’s still too early to tell) it looks like it’s going to be one of the most talked about shows of 2010. Summary: After a global catastrophe destroys the world’s infrastructures and all but wipes out the planets governments the world’s populations are left to fend for themselves. The show follows a group of survivors; all residents of a Californian suburban apartment building as they emerge into the chaos following the event. Together they set out on a quest for survival whilst trying to uncover the mysteries surrounding the event that has brought civilisation to it knees. Cast and Production details: Executive producer and writer Jesse Alexander (Heroes, Lost) Director Alex Graves (Fringe, Journeyman) Cast: Adam Campbell, Catherine Dent, Julie Gonzalo, David Lyons, Derek Mio, Carly Pope, Thekla Reuten and Addison Timlin Take a look at the trailer see what you think * Apparently this trailer has been leaked so it probably won’t stay available for long.

The new TV series Day One is gearing up to be a huge event for NBC, and placing it firmly in the Heroes time slot they are predicting a good response to the show which is already gathering huge interest. They have described the 13 episode series as “an event.” And NBC are so excited about the upcoming post-apocalyptic drama they’ve already released a behind the scenes special months before it’s release, which you can view below. Summary: The show begins the day after an unknown apocalyptic event which leaves a group of survivors struggling to survive, whilst trying to figure out exactly just what it was that brought civilisation to an end. The cast will include Carly Pope and Xander Berkeley, both 24 alumni you may remember Xander he played George Mason in the show. It’s also produced by Executive Producer and Writer Jesse Alexander whose previous credits include Heroes, Lost and Alias. With the huge buzz that’s already surrounding the show and NBCs obvious excitement over its release you just know this is going to be one spectacular show. NBC have now confirmed that the show will premier on March 10 2010, I personally can’t wait! A behind the scenes look at the making of Day One
