Stephen king and Spielberg working on TV Series ‘Dome’
TV News — By Shaun Clarke on December 17, 2009 at 10:26 amStephen King and Steven Spielberg along with his DreamWorks studio are working together to adapt kings novel, Under the Dome for a limited TV Series.
The novel follows the struggle of a small New England town that is suddenly enveloped by a transparent force field, cutting them off from the rest of the world. Trapped and confused by the unexplainable event, the towns people must fend for themselves whilst their loved ones can only watch helplessly from outside the dome. As the situation becomes more desperate violence begins to escalate within the community, as they fight to survive and protect their dwindling food supplies.
Anyone that’s read the novel will know that this TV adaptation is exciting news, as like many of kings novels Under the Dome is perfect for the small screen. Also, being the rather lengthy story that it is, I think only a TV or mini series could really do it justice. I’m also very happy to see that DreamWorks Studios is involved, as some of kings recent adaptations haven’t fared so well.
