Sam Worthington the Next Flash Gordon?
According to latest reports Sam Worthington is tipped to be given the role of Sci-Fi superhero Flash Gordon.
It’s still early days as the project hasn’t even gotten off the ground yet, but it’s said that the role will either go to Sam or Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal.)

“If he gets the role it would be quite a big deal as Flash is an all-American hero. …Right now it’s between Sam, Ryan Reynolds and one or two others for the lead role should the project actually get off the ground.”

Securing this role would be a boost to the Australian actor’s growing reputation as the new action hero. Relatively unknown to the masses until his role in Terminator Salvation, Worthington’s career is going from strength to strength. With a starring role in the box office hit Avatar, as well as a schedule of high profile movies being filmed in 2010. It seems Worthington is the unstoppable new kid on the block and after his performances this year I’d say quite rightly so.
But whether Worthington becomes the saviour of the Universe or not, I’m looking forward to hearing more news about this project and of course I’ll post my findings here as always.
