No Cameo for Mel Gibson in Mad Max ‘Fury Road’
During Mel Gibson’s recent interview for his upcoming movie Edge of Darkness, the question on many a reporters mind was his involvement or lack of involvement in the fourth instalment of the Mad Max franchise Fury Road. However after providing only a vague answer it seemed there could still be a possibility of seeing Mel in the movie. However Dark Horizons has now exclusively revealed that Mel Gibson will definitely not be appearing in Fury Road.
Gibson made it clear that the decision was made by George Miller the director of the movie. Adding,
“We’ve talked about it. …You know, we’ve cleared it. It’s no biggie. No biggie. It’s his franchise. It’s his to do with as he wishes and I’m looking forward to seeing it. Good luck to him. I mean, I think he’s a genius. Everything he does, everything he turns his hand to, is somehow, extraordinary. So, I can’t wait to see what he does with it”
Judging by Mel’s response it seems he would have liked to have had some kind of involvement in the movie and why not, it’s the movie franchise that launched him into mega stardom.
It seems a shame that Miller has decided to exclude him from this project, even a small cameo could have been an olive branch to the growing number of dissenting fans out there. But as Mel quite eloquently put it “It’s his franchise. It’s his to do with as he wishes.” What the final result will turn out like I guess that is something that Mel like the rest of us will have to wait and see.
Hmm I wonder what Mel thinks about the possible 3d and Animation? I think he’s better off out of it if you ask me
