New V Pilot finally airs on ABC

So the new V pilot finally landed on ABC last night and I’ve got to say whilst it didn’t blow me away for the most part I enjoyed it.

I remember the spectacular opening of the original 80s series and being awe struck as the giant alien space ships descended over the major cities across the globe. However the opening to the new series whilst not a total disappointment wasn’t anywhere near as compelling as the original. And sadly in my opinion neither was the rest of the pilot.

The premise of the new series does differ slightly from the original in that prior to their official arrival on Earth the “visitors” have already secretly been living amongst us and have infiltrated society as well as high levels of government and fuelled terrorist attacks across the globe. Aside from that and a few other minor plot changes it’s pretty much similar to the 80s classic with some obvious improvements in special effects etc, although personally I prefer alien ships from the 80s show.
As you can probably tell I’m not exactly enthusiastic about the new pilot but I do think given a chance it could develop into a good show.

For those that missed the show you can catch the pilot online on abc.com Saturday 7th November.

I really enjoyed it but I agree it’s not as gripping as the original. I really hope it doesn’t turn into yet another boring soap opera style scifi series like alot of the rubbish on the SyFy lately.

Also I think V could make a great feature film aswell or a Lord of the rings type trilogy given a good director and sscript because the original mini series was excellent.
