Two million years after a devastating nuclear war changed the face of the earth that few humans survived. The world is now inhabited by fairy creatures who've reinhabited the world after man's destruction and by the mutants given birth by the nuclear apocalypse. Two wizardly brothers stand on opposite ends of a new war about to commence after the abduction of an elven princess.
Review:
Ralph Bakshi is known for his bold and unique animation styles, as well as his tendencies toward very adult themes and sexual innuendos. Wizards is no different and is a cult classic. As with Bakshi's animated Lord of the Rings this movie employs a lot of the rotoscoping animation technique. I've always enjoyed this movie for its inspired and imaginative world and for its quirky and mostly dark humor. Besides its mutants and Nazis against elves and fairies, need I really say more?
