Plot:

When a science experiment goes horribly wrong one of the scientists wakes up to find the entire worlds population has disappeared. As he ventures out into the empty streets the realisation of what has occurred sinks in, leaving him struggling to come to terms with what’s happened and fighting to hold on to his sanity. He is eventually saved from his abandonment when he comes across another survivor. Now seemingly the last man and women on the planet they begin to explore the empty world around them and each other as they ponder the future of humanity and the reasoning’s for the event which wiped out civilisation. However things take an unexpected turn when they discover yet another survivor, a man whose presence changes the dynamic of their relationship leaving them struggling to resolve their differences. But as they compare their accounts of what happened leading up to the event it suddenly becomes clear why they survived. Later the scientist also discovers that the event will happen again and sets out on a mission to prevent it from reoccurring.

I can’t explain how good this movie is without possibly spoiling it, so I won’t! I’ll simply say watch it and you’ll be in for a treat.

+1 #1 PJ 2009-07-07 23:20 This is just the kind of movie I enjoy watching. The intense loneliness experienced by the main character is something that is impossible to replicate. Even if you were marooned on a deserted island you'd at least have the hope of seeing someone again. I'd also recommend silent running I've searched and not found it here, I'm not sure if it fits into this category, but it's a good movie. Quote

This was probably my first P.A. movie set in Australia. I'm still thinking about that ending, but I enjoyed it.
