Set some years after the events of the first movie, Sarah Connor is now holed up in a mental institution and John her son, now a teenager is living with foster parents. Once again the machines try to eliminate John Conner by sending another more powerful terminator back in time (the T-1000). However the human resistance reprograms a terminator and sends him back to protect John. Both John and the terminator break his mother out whilst trying to evade the super efficient killing machine that is the T-1000. With the future of mankind hanging in the balance the trio set out on a quest that could change the future of the planet.
