In the future science comes up with a cure for aging. Quickly nearly everyone takes this miracle of cosmetic science. However, the effects of the drug weren't fully known until it was too late. Most of the population have become violent mutants with incredible strength but almost no mind. The survivors have built Island City, a refuge surrounded by force fields and where the inhabitants can have a more normal life. Breeding in Island City is controlled by    dermal implants. Mating is only allowed by two people with the same color implant, otherwise their offspring could be a mutant.

The movie follows a military squad as they go on a rescue mission outside of the city.

 

Review:

This made for TV movie was originally intended to be a TV series. It is, in fact, a pilot.

It closely mirrors the formula of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I was a kid when I first watched it, and was disappointed that there were no further episodes.

The world of Island City is interesting for post apocalyptic and scifi fans alike.
