Created by the acclaimed director Terry Gilliam 12 Monkeys is a sci-fi masterpiece that showcases the acting talents of both Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis, who give one of the most outstanding and commanding performances of their careers.

 

After a killer virus is released the world’s population is decimated and the few survivors that remain are forced to live in squalid underground communities. In a bid to save mankind "volunteers" are sent back in time to recover a pure sample of the virus so that scientists in the future can create a cure. When "volunteer" Cole (Bruce Willis) begins the hunt for the virus he finds himself in a race against time as he tries to unravel a mystery that could save humanity, but that will also take him to the brink of insanity.

 

This is an excellent movie and one of the most memorable sci-fi action movies of the decade. Brad Pitt’s performance is flawless, as is Bruce Willis’ and that along with the masterful directing skills of Gilliam make this a movie that should be in everyone’s collection.
