I think they should use Mel as an old Max. Maybe he’s like a reluctant leader now of a band of folks like those people in Road Warrior. Maybe there’s some more depth to his character now, and maybe he’s still kinda badass, but he’s old and mostly is a mentor. Maybe there’s a young guy who is like he once was, a loner, angry. Max helps him, but only reluctantly because Max is still angry and a bit of a loner too.

They should go with an unknown Mel Gibson wasn’t famous at all before taking on this role. But either way Hardy’s a good choice. TBH I more worried about the plot than the cast!
