Mad Max 4 Fury Road Gets Its New Leading Lady
After years of false starts, rumours and speculation it seems the next instalment of the Mad Max franchise is now definitely gearing up for production. It’s been over 20 years since the release of the last movie, in a series which has become one of the most iconic and celebrated movies of the post-apocalyptic genres.
Director George Miller who will begin filming next summer in Australia has just signed up the films new leading lady Charlize Theron, who it’s believed will star alongside British actor Tom Hardy who will be taking up the reigns as Max Rockatansky, a role that previously propelled Mel Gibson to mega stardom.

It’s still early days and it seems Miller is keeping details of the cast and plot a closely guarded secret but I’ll bring more news as it develops.
Also it’s worth noting that it’s been previously rumoured that Sam Worthington of Terminator 4 fame may also take up the role of Max. And to add fuel to the fire Miller has just recently told Australia’s ABC News that he still hasn’t made a final decision on the leading roles.

They should go with an unknown Mel Gibson wasn’t famous at all before taking on this role. But either way Hardy’s a good choice. TBH I more worried about the plot than the cast!

I think they should use Mel as an old Max. Maybe he’s like a reluctant leader now of a band of folks like those people in Road Warrior. Maybe there’s some more depth to his character now, and maybe he’s still kinda badass, but he’s old and mostly is a mentor. Maybe there’s a young guy who is like he once was, a loner, angry. Max helps him, but only reluctantly because Max is still angry and a bit of a loner too.
