Mad Max 4 – ‘Fury Road’ in 3D?
Movie News — By Shaun Clarke on January 16, 2010 at 6:53 pmWell if you read the title and your heart sank like mine did when I first heard then you should read on.
I came across what I thought were just rumours yesterday regarding the fourth instalment of the Mad Max franchise, Fury Road. Only to find today that even more rumours were circulating regarding the, well bizarre report that Fury Road will be in 3D! Even worse there were suggestions that part of the film will also be CG animated. After trawling around the net and connecting the dots it seems there may well be some credence to this. In fact it’s now looking like 3D is a definite; however the animation or level of animation in the movie is still very much unknown. Now I remember quite awhile ago when the movie was supposedly going to be entirely animated and so it’s kind of weird hearing now that it will be some kind of anime half breed.
There have been so many rumours regarding this movie over the years that it’s hard to know what to believe. But it was definitely confirmed late last year that Tom Hardy will take on the role of Max starring alongside screen siren Charlize Theron.
As you can probably tell from the extensive list of sources below I’m still not really sure what is going on, but as soon as I hear more I’ll post it on here.

Sounds like their jumping on the Avatar bandwagon. Judging by the success of it I guess financially that would make sense. But I’m with you on this I don’t think Mad Max is the right movie for 3d or Animation. Unless this is a completely different beast? In which case why not just call it ‘Fury Road’ instead of attaching it to a series of PA films that has a large cult following.
