‘How It Ends’ Scribe Brooks McClaren to pen Techno-Apocalypse movie ‘God’s Gulch’
Brooks McClaren has signed up to write the script for director Mike McCoy’s new apocalyptic movie, God’s Gulch. Here’s the official summary,
“In the wake of the entire computer network shutting down and the ensuing economic and societal collapse, a group must come together to fight for their survival.”
It’s expected that production will begin in 2013 after McCoy’s finished his latest project.
Although God’s Gulch was jointly the idea of both McCoy (Act of Valor) and McClaren, the acclaimed writer (McClaren – pictured left) will write the script himself. Which is good news as it’s well known that he has a thing for post-apocalyptic movies having also written the script for How It Ends; another PA movie which we will no doubt be covering extensively when it goes into production (hopefully next year.)
How It Ends made it onto the 2010 ‘Black List’ (Hollywood’s list of best unproduced scripts) and is described as a post-apocalyptic story, that follows a man who must make “a perilous journey halfway across the country to return to his pregnant wife in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event.” It’s already been picked up by Sierra/Affinity and as stated should also be going into production in 2013.
We’ll keep you updated on any further developments.
