The Hunger Games has been on my radar for quite some time now although I still haven’t gotten around to reading the book, which I’ve been told is excellent, you can check out the reviews if you need any proof of that. However you only need to read the synopsis to see that the movie adaptation has huge potential and judging by the current trailer and its predecessors that potential may have been realised.

Summary:
Set in a post-apocalyptic future where the authoritarian state “Capitol” chooses a boy and a girl from one of the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, a young woman volunteers to take her younger sister's place for the latest match.

The movie stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth and is set for release March 23, 2012.
