Ok heres a question for everyone even remotely interested in all things survival………….what is your favorite bit of kit and of course why?

For me its got to be a good knife, strong moderately sized (as I dont expect to have to melt it down and turn it into a battleship or have a sword fight with ten ninja's with it) Sharp with a full tang. Because for me its the one tool that makes everything else a lot easier. And yes before you ask as a kid I had more than a few cheap or fancy knifes and in short they either broke or dangerously didnt do the job. I do still have all my digits though!
However a close second would be a good pair of socks, I hate cheap socks lol no really!

I know what you are saying a water filter just makes outdoor life soooo much easier.
