As reported a few weeks ago 2012 has been breaking Box Office records worldwide, smashing previous record sales in many countries including India amongst others.

Well 2012 hasn’t finished its record setting run just yet and now has another accolade to add to its list. As the movie has now set a new record in China as the highest grossing film of all time, taking 460 million Yuan ($67.3 million.)

Reports claim that the pro-Chinese elements of the movie, which sees China building Arcs in an effort to save humanity, had a hand in the huge popularity of the movie over there. And helped 2012 sales to soar way higher than expected. It’s also worth noting that 2012 had a longer than usual run in the Chinese theatres and this would also have had an impact on the total sales achieved.
